Driven by the passion for quality sushi and to share this with family and friends, three young men opened a small sushi bar with a simple intention - to serve sushi with great taste, high quality ingredients, topped with a touch of perfection.
With its conception in 2008, Wakame created a cult-like following amongst sushi fans in Jeddah. Wakame offered nothing but authentic Japanese experience with meticulous attention to detail from quality of ingredients and presentation while staying true to the Japanese quality.
In 2013, Wakame opened its first dine-in restaurant after persistent demand from its customers. Staying true to its DNA, Wakame did not just want to open a restaurant but wanted to create a unique Japanese experience that would appeal to the Saudi market.
